Education ensures bright future

LAHORE - Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that the future of Pakistan is linked with the provision of quality education and Punjab government is utilizing all resources for achieving this objective. He said that holding of children literature festival is aimed at providing them opportunity of curricular activities and polishing their creative abilities. The Provincial Minister disclosed that children literature festivals will be held in seven big cities of the province next year and one crore rupees will be allocated during next fiscal year for this purpose.
He expressed these views while addressing a Children Literature Festival held in collaboration with Education Department, Children Literature Festival, Idara Taleem-o-Aagahi, Umeed-e-Naujawan and Purazam Pakistan, here on Saturday. Director Programmes ITA Dr. Bela Raza Jamil, EDO Education Pervaiz Akhtar, teachers and children were present in large numbers. Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that Parho Punjab—Barho Punjab programme has been started for increasing school enrollment and enhancing quality education under which Members National and Provincial Assemblies are adopting schools and the facilities in schools are improving. He said it is target of Punjab government that no child from the age of five to nine years should remain out of school up to 2018. He advised students to pay full attention to their education and win laurels for the country and the nation.
The Provincial Minister said that our religion Islam stresses on getting education and it is a Hadith, “learn knowledge if you have to go to China”. Rana Mashhood Ahmad introducing the child student Alizah Riaz of Jhang who took first position in International Kangaroo Competition of Mathematics told that Alizah has won laurels for the country throughout the world by getting first position among the children of 27 countries. He gave tablet PC(Computer) to Alizah and also announced a cash prize of ten thousand rupees whereas a cash prize of ten thousand rupees was also announced for the talented students on behalf of Zoha Foundation. He said that a meeting of Alizah Riaz with the Chief Minister Punjab will also be arranged. Parents of Alizah thanked Education Minister on the encouragement of their daughter.
