Heavy rain is expected in various cities during the next 3 days
In view of the possibility of heavy rains in different parts of the country during the next 3 days, there is a risk of flooding in local rivers and landslides in mountainous areas as well as damage to weak infrastructure.
According to the Meteorological Department, due to heavy rains on February 29 and March 1, Gwadar, Kech, Turbat, Panjgur, Awaran, Barkhan, Kohlu, Sibi, Nasirabad, Dalbandin, Khuzdar and Dera Ghazi Khan, while on March 1 and 2 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, There is a risk of flooding in Murree, Galiat and Islamabad, Rawalpindi, local rivers.
On 1st and 2nd of March heavy rain and snowfall in Murree, Guliyat, Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astor, Hunza, Skardu, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch and Haveli have closed communication roads. There is a fear. Meanwhile, there is also a fear of landslides in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Guliyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
There is fear of damage to weak infrastructure (electric poles, solar panels of vehicles etc.) due to wind, gusts, thunder and heavy rain. On Thursday, there is a possibility of rain, thundershowers and snowfall at many places in Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
During this time, heavy rain is expected at most places in Balochistan, hailstorm at few places, while snow is expected in North Balochistan, while wind, thunder and thunder are expected in central and southern areas of Punjab.
During the last 24 hours, the weather remained cold and dry in most parts of the country, but Balochistan and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa received thundershowers and snowfall in the mountains.
The highest rainfall was recorded in Jiwani 128 mm, Gwadar 30 mm, Quetta (Samingli 03 mm), Khuzdar 01 mm, Drosh 01 mm in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During this time, the lowest temperature in the country was recorded in Leh minus 10 degrees, Lam minus 06 degrees, Skardu, Gops minus 04 degrees, Malam Jabba, Hunza and Astor minus 03 degrees Celsius.
