Recently, a social media post shared a screenshot of an email with the title 'Google is sun setting Gmail', after which social media users became worried and thought that Gmail would be shut down.

Gmail's journey to connect millions of people around the world, enabling seamless communication and fostering countless connections, is coming to an end on August 1, 2024, reads Google's intended message in the screenshot. Gmail will be officially shut down.

The said post quickly went viral on social media, after which various questions arose in the minds of users.

To further quell the rumours, Google tweeted on its official Gmail X account stating that all these reports are false and Gmail will continue its service uninterrupted.
