Islamabad—Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) on Tuesaday has announced October 21 as deadline for admissions in B.Ed and M.Ed programs. According to an official of the university, fresh B.Ed program has offered in accordance with new road-map given by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui hoped that the aspirating students will take benefit of the opportunity. One and half year B.Ed program has been offered for degree holders of MA/M.Sc students while four years B.Ed program has introduced for the students having FA/F.Sc certificates with 2nd division. M.Ed one year has been offered for specialization in elementary teacher education, science education, special education, secondary teachers education and distance & non-formal education.
Moreover another new program ‘Associate Degree in Education’ has also been introduced in the current semester, in accordance with new road-map given by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
It will be one year program for in-service teachers, those having intermediate (2nd Division), plus PTC education and five years teaching experience will be able to take admission in it.
