SCHOLARSHIP CHEQUES DISTRIBUTED
Hyderabad—Special Assistant to CM Sindh, Abdul Jabbar Khan has said that education was the most priority sector of Sindh government and the largest allocation was made for the promotion of education in Budget 2016-17.
Addressing a ceremony held here on Wednesday to distribute cheques of merit scholarship among 60 deserving students at Girls Degree College Qasimabad, he said the provincial government was doing its best for promotion of education and it would leave no stone unturned to encourage the students.
He urged the students to keep their studies continue with dedication and hard work and said that every student having good educational record would be awarded scholarships so that they could pursue their study. Speaking at the occasion Chairman District Zakwat Council Hyderabad, Haji Sher Muhammad Pirzada informed that an amount of Rs. 234,000 was allocated for extending financial assistance to deserving and eligible student and each student was being disbursed Rs.3900.
Water coolers were provided to 20 schools of district Hyderabad from Zakat fund while funds were also being released to hospitals for treatment of destitute patients, he added.
PPP local leader Kashif Shoro said poor children studying in government schools were securing more marks in examinations than students of private schools and government would provide every possible assistance to such students. Earlier, Abdul Jabbar Khan distributed scholarship cheques to students.
