MALAKAND STUDENT GETS RS.500,000 REWARD
Peshawar—Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Atif Khan Wednesday on behalf of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak gave a cheque of Rs 500,000 to Shah Faisal, a brilliant student of Malakand Board who had topped the F.Sc Computer Science annual examination 2015 by securing 869 marks.
The said student had also secured first position throughout the province in computer science ETEA entry test. Additional Secretary Education Qaiser Alam and Farman Ali father of Shah Faisal were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony Muhammad Atif Khan said that the position holder student of government schools and colleges deserve to be awarded by the government as they did not enjoy the facilities as the students of private institutions.
He said the parents of government schools’ students do not have sufficient resources to give their children best high education, adding the government was taking a number of steps for improving standard of education at government schools.
He said for the purpose, the government was encouraging the brilliant student of government schools and colleges by awarding cash award to them. He said the government has also taken a number of steps to discourage cheating at examination centres.
He said for the first time in the history of the province, a bulk of amount has been earmarked in the budget for education due to which the performance of education department has improved. Earlier, Atif Khan congratulated Shah Faisal and his father Farman Ali over the achievement and hoped Shah Faisal would earn a good name in the near future.
