GOVT TO MAKE RANKING SYSTEM FOR INTERMEDIATE BOARDS: BALIGH

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Engr Muhammad Baligh ur Rahman Thursday said that government was making efforts to initiate "Ranking System" for the Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education through out the country.

Addressing the opening ceremony of "Web Services Portal" and a new Laboratory at "One Window Operation" here at Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE), he said this ranking system would be made to check the standard of all boards of the country.

He said the government was following its vision for promotion of education sector, had facilitated students of FBISE through modern services.

Baligh ur Rahman said the youths were our asset and it was our responsibility to fulfill their educational requirements.

The federal government had modernized the FBISE than all other boards of the country adding that it would work as a role model for others, he stated.

The minister of state said the federal government would play its vital role by providing facilities to bring inter provincial boards at par.

After the 18th amendment the provinces could not succeed in establishing their curriculum wing, he said adding that the federal education ministry was making all out efforts to institutionalize its curriculum with in two months.

The education must be purge from politics; he stressed and expressed determination that federal and provinces would work together for the promotion of education.

The minister pointed out the facilties which were provided at FBISE were not available in any other board of the country.

The private schools, he said, in the past had been damaging the future of the students by holding their roll number slips till the clearance of their dues and in this way many students were not able to sit in the exams.

He said students through modern facilities, would be able to get their roll number slips via online at their home and added it would safe the future of students.

Addressing the under training Principals of different institutes at FBISE, he said that "we respect our teachers, academicians, principals and scholars the most because they are the real builders of a civil society".

Baligh said that "we should focus more on character building and critical thinking rather than imparting simple knowledge".

He also congratulated and commended the efforts of Chairman FBISE and his team for bringing the changes in board.

Chairman FBISE Dr Ikram Ali Malik on the occasion explained the functions of newly opened web services portal and said it would facilitate students in the different areas of the country.

The web portal services include Rechecking papers, Duplicate mark sheet, Verification of documents, Issuance of migration certificate, Correction of roll number slips, Online appointments with principal officers and Live chat from morning to night.

The students can get these facilities through online at their home.
