IIUI, ISESCO vow to boost mutual cooperation
islamabad - International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) have agreed to boost mutual cooperation in terms of scholarships, conferences and academic excellence.
This development was result of a meeting between Director General (ISESCO), Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri and President IIUI Dr Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, said a press release here on Tuesday. During the meeting, Dr Abdulaziz Othman assured of cooperation regarding provision of scholarships to IIUI students.
He hailed IIUI’s role for improving educational standards for the youth of Muslim world. Both the personalities also discussed matter of a conference on “The Experience of Islamic Universities in Teaching of Arabic Language to Non-Arabs”, regarding which ISESCO DG said that organization would jointly work with IIUI for arrangements of the conference.
It was also agreed in the meeting that IIUI and ISESCO would jointly hold a conference on Iqbal’s thoughts in Morocco. Dr Al-Draiweesh congratulated Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri upon receiving Sitara i Imtiaz which was conferred upon him by the Government of Pakistan on March 23.
Dr Al-Draiweesh said on the occasion that IIUI was keen to broaden its linkages with all the universities of the world. He reiterated his resolve that IIUI would keep disseminating Islam’s message of peace. He also thanked ISESCO for cooperation with IIUI and hoped that mutual ties would be further strengthened in future.
Meanwhile, the ministry of capital administration & development division is taking necessary steps for the completion of up-gradation process of the capital’s educational institutions in next eighteen months.
These educational institutions are being made a role model for the entire country following vision of the prime minister. An official of the CA&DD told APP yesterday that our real goal was learning outcome through education reforms programme.
The government, he said, in this regard was determined to upgrade infrastructure, provide facilities and a conducive and learning friendly environment at schools. He said the process has been initiated for the recruitment of 2300 highly qualified new teachers on merit basis under Federal Directorate of Education.
A comprehensive teacher’s training programme will be stated to keep them abreast with the latest teaching methodologies, he said and added, the dream of quality education cannot be realized without qualified teachers. He said upgradation work of 22 schools and colleges has been completed in first phase while remaining 400 public educational institutions would be completed in next 18 months.
These schools have been upgraded including with latest technology, infrastructure, modern labs, furniture, wash rooms, transport facilities and start of Montessori classes in the federal public institutions, he added.
