Universal primary education drive kicks off
HAFIZABAD
The annual Universal Primary Education Campaign has been launched under vision of Parha Likha Punjab here in district Hafizabad.
According to Focal Person for the Universal Primary Education drive Ghazala Anwar, children from four to nine years of age will be enrolled during this campaign. They will also be provided with free books and other facilities.
Ghazala Anwar who is District Education Officer (Women) told the media that all-out resources are being utilised to improve standard and quality of education and ensure that each and every child is get enrolled.
TWO VEHICLES SNATCHED: Unidentified dacoits snatched two vehicles in separate incidents here on Sunday. According to police sources, Abdul Ghafar, a resident of Lahore was coming to Hafizabad on a Mazda truck (LHR-5862) loaded with plastic papers. When he reached near Kassisay Chowk, four unidentified accused intercepted the truck at gunpoint. They tied the drive hand and foot and threw him in a wheat field. Later, the accused drove off towards unidentified location in the truck.
In another incident, four armed accused abducted driver of Haji Muhammad Ameen, a resident of Hafizabad when the driver parked vehicle (7022) in front of residence of Haji Muhammad Ameen. Later, the accused threw the driver in a deserted place and fled away with the vehicle.
