"The Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) will complete the process of issuing appointment letters of 850 new teachers till next month across the Punjab. Teachers for the post from grades 14 to 17 are being inducted," Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh told officers about recruitment of new teachers in the institutes.

Chairperson Sheikh said to ensure transparency and merit in the recruitment procedure, services of the National Testing Service in Islamabad were hired to conduct the test.

"Up to 26,000 candidates submitted their applications for these posts. The test was conducted by the service and 7,902 candidates passed the entry test. The system prepared the merit as per record of successful candidates. Interviews were arranged at the district level.

The selection committee chaired by the district co-ordination officer of each district conducted the interviews.

The chairperson said Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif allowed the recruitment of new teaching staff to meet the shortage of teaching faculty in the institutes.
