AIOU to set up ‘special camps’ for guidance of students
ISLAMABAD: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui has advised all regional directors of the university to set up ‘special camp’ at their offices for guidance of the students.
He also directed the AIOU Admission Department to provide maximum facilities to the applicants for taking admission in their desired discipline as well as ensuring availability of admission forms at nearest places. Admissions for the spring semester, 2016 from SSC to PhD level in various disciplines will start from February 1st. Last date for the admission will be March 4th.
All the necessary steps have already been taken to ensure transparency in the admission, examination, results and books delivery process and complete it within stipulated time frame. A computerised and mobile messaging system has also been put in place to keep the students informed about the admissions to attend their queries.
According to Admissions Director Syed Ziaul Hasnain, computerised admission forms have been sent to all the continuing students. The university has also place the same at its official website.
Admission for PhD would be offered in distance and non-formal education, secondary teacher education, special education, educational planning and management, science education, agricultural extension, physics, statistics, chemistry and history.
The admissions for the MS would be offered in management sciences, environmental design and computer sciences, MPhil will be offered in distance and non-formal education, secondary teacher education, educational planning and management, special education, science education, statistics, physics, Urdu and economics.
The admissions for MSc (Hons) will include rural development, live stock management and agriculture extension while the admissions for MSc will offer in mass communication, TV production, sociology, mathematics, statistic, chemistry, microbiology, forestry extension and physics.
The admissions for Master programme would be offered in Master in Librarian and Information Sciences (MLIS), TEFL, history, teacher education, special education, DNFE, EPM, Col MBA, MPA and MCom. Under MEd programme, the admissions would be offered in teacher education, science education, special education and DNFE.
Postgraduate Diploma in mass communication, computer science, EPM and TEFL, BS in chemistry and microbiology. Under teacher education programme, the admission of CT and ATTC, associate degree in commerce would also be offered.
