Over insufficient security arrangements, notices have been issued to more than 50 public and private sector educational institutions of Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali Bhakkar district of Sargodha Division.
These institutions include University of Sargodha. On the orders of Regional Police Officer Zulfiqar Hameed, police and other law-enforcing agencies conducted search operation in the surrounding areas of Danish School System Harnoli district Mianwali, Namal College Chakralla, Roy Medical College Sargodha, University of Sargodha, Agriculture College, Habib Girls College, Sargodha University Campus district Bhakkar, Govt Postgraduate College Bhakkar and private boys hotels.
The police have scrutinised 138 people during search operation while seven suspects were booked while illicit arms recovered from five of them. According to police sources, security has been beefed up around all academic institutions across the division in the wake of Charsadda University terrorist attack.
Edu project extended: The Punjab government has extended the Non-Formal Education Promotion Project a further period of 40 months in Sialkot district.
The project is aimed to providing non-formal education to those who could not get education in Sialkot district.
The district administration said that the extension has been given as the project had been running successfully in Sialkot district. It added that the district administration has issued the letters to 140 teachers for the continuity of the project.
