PSH BECOMES LARGEST ORPHANAGE IN ASIA
Tuesday, January 12, 2016 - Islamabad—Pakistan Sweet Home (PSH) has become the largest orphanage of Asia by accommodating over 3600 Angels or orphan kids in 31 cities of Pakistan, PSH Patron in Chief Zamurrad Khan said on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion of Gilgit-Baltistan Day, he said the orphans were being taken care of, with free education, food and residence under the PSH project initiated in 2009 with a single child.
He said providing modern education and quality shelter to deserving segment of the society was main purpose of his life and generous contribution of the philanthropists was required to meet the necessities of the children housed in PSHs.
It was very encouraging that politicians were taking interest in providing recreational opportunities to the Angels, he added.
Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) Barrister Abid Waheed Shaikh said a new PSH for orphan children of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would soon start functioning in Shangla.
Addressing on the occasion he said two PSHs were also working in Skardu and Gilgit, where Orphans were being provided free accomodation, food and education facilities throughout the country.
Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Hafiz Hafeez ur Rehman was the chief guest. He appreciated the efforts of Abid Waheed Sheikh and Zamurd Khan for providing excellent facilities to destitute children and assured his full support to PBM for establishing more PSHs in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Earlier, Pakistan sweet homes orphan kids paid homage to families, who had lost their love ones in violence in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Various recreational activities were arranged for the children. A cultural show was highlight of the event where the PSH children exhibited their skills.
