KP private schools offer free education to street children
PESHAWAR – Private schools of Khyber Pakhtunkwha have started a programme for imparting free education to 125,000 street children and provision of free uniforms and scholarships to them.
This was told in a meeting of the Chamber of Education with Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Deputy Speaker Dr Meher Taj Roghani, which called on her here in her chamber on Tuesday.
The delegation was comprised of Chamber of Education President Syed Mushtaq Hussain Shah, Hafeez Niazi, Dr Zakir Shah, Tahir Malik, Mohammad Ghayyur Sethi, Mohammad Sarfaraz Nawaz, Aqeel Razaq and Inamatullah Khan.
The delegates told the deputy speaker that they fully agreed with the programme of the provincial government for provision of free education to maximum number of street children in their schools. They said that in this connection a programme had already been launched in Abbottabad and very soon a formal and impressive function in this regard would also be held in the presence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan in Peshawar soon, which would be an ample proof of the confidence in the policies of the PTI.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Meher Taj Roghani said that through look after not only positive thinking would be promoted in them rather they could also be practically transformed into useful citizens. She said that the provincial government was utmost serious in the provision of education and look after of the street children to remove their sense of deprivation and turned them into respectful members of the society.
