SC moved for introducing uniform education system in the country

ISLAMABAD: Petition has been filed seeking orders for introduction of uniform education system all over the country.

A constitutional petition was filed under article 184(3) of the constitution by Kokab Iqbal advocate in SC on this count. Cabinet division secretary, secretary CADD and all the four provincial education secretaries have been made respondents in the petition.

The petitioner took the plea that uniform education system be enforced in the country. The uniform syllabus and education system should be based on Urdu. All the aspects, including Islamic values and ideology of Pakistan should be protected. The existing curriculum is alien to fundamental rights of the people.

He further said in his petition that the chapters on Khalid Bin Walid, Muhammad Bin Qasim and Tipu Sultan, poetry of Allama Iqbal and speeches of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah have been excluded from the current syllabus.

He prayed to court to issue directives for introducing uniform education system in the country.
