Tevta to offer stitching machine operator short course
FAISALABAD (APP): Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) has announced to offer industrial stitching machine operator short-course across the province to fulfill the demand of industries for trained manpower. A spokesman of the TEVTA told here on Sunday that TEVTA had established a training institution at Lahore in which this short course was offered in 2012. After getting better results of the experiment, the TEVTA authorities had decided to offer this course in other parts of the province. He said the TEVTA had set a target to produce 8000 professionals of this short course annually and this trained force would be provided to the garments sector according to their demand.
He further said that initially this course would be started in major cities of Punjab and no fee would be charged from the admission seekers rather they would be provided a monthly stipend of Rs 1000 during training period.
Fesco chief directs employees to work dedicatedly
FAISALABAD (APP): Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Rasheed Aslam has directed the FESCO employees to work devotedly, dedicatedly and wholeheartedly by adopting self-accountability system to improve the performance of the company. Addressing a meeting at FESCO headquarters here on Sunday, he said there was no room for delinquent and lethargic elements in the FESCO. The CEO said the FESCO had started interview process for the recruitment of meter readers, line superintendents-1, SSO-1, data coders and data entry operators, adding that the process would be completed within a month.
He said the FESCO was following fairness and transparency coupled with merit for new recruitments so that eligible, energetic and enthusiastic persons could be inducted in the company.
He said every circle was being provided 12 transformers of 100-KV and 6 of 200-KV capacity to improve the power distribution system.
He directed all the sub divisional officers to activate their subordinates for providing quality service to the consumers by resolving their electricity related complaints on top priority basis.
Gas pressure in Rawalpindi likely to improve in few days
RAWALPINDI (APP): The General Manager (GM) Sui Gas Rawalpindi Region Mohammad Zahoor said that gas pressure would improve in few days as steps are being taken to solve the problem. Talking to APP, he said that the gap between demand and supply is constantly increasing. He admitted that frequent increase of demand has crippled the lives of people. He urged the consumers do not use gas heater and geyser so that regular supply of gas to be ensured for the domestic users. It may be mentioned that low gas pressure continued in most parts of the city, which has affected the daily routine activities of people. Most localities in Rawalpindi are getting low gas pressure and for this reason housewives are unable to cook food.
The people residing in Jamia Masjid, Waris Khan, Akal Garh,Dhoke Dalal,Karimpura,Committee Chowk, Dhoke Khaba, Umer Road, Dhoke Ealhi Bukush, Nadeem Colony, Arya Mohallah, Pirwadhai, Adiala Road, Bakra Mandi, Dhoke Syedan, Sadiqabad, Muslim Town, Shah Khalid Colony, Pindora and Shah Khalid Colony are facing difficulties due to low gas pressure.
Punjab allocates 375 acres of land for industrial estate
BAHAWALPUR (APP): Punjab government has allocated 375 acres of land for industrial estate in the area of Aghapur of Bahawalpur and approval of 125 acres additional land is underway. Minister of State for Education, Interior Engineer Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman told media that Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif had announced the industrial estate on his visit to Bahawalpur earlier this year. He said that new Education Policy will come into operation from next year and consultation from provinces is underway for National Curriculum. He said that government is striving to improve standards of education and increase recruitment at schools level.
He said that number of admission in universities has increased during last couple of years due to student friendly schemes of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif including Fee Reimbursement Scheme and National Laptop Scheme.
Budget for higher education has been doubled by the federal government and provincial governments are also urged to spend more on education sector, he added.
