Punjab govt to categorise private schools according to fee
A proposal has been under consideration for dividing private educational institutions into A and B categories for fixation of fee.
Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed told this during a meeting held with private school owners and members of parents’ action committee, said a press release issued here on Saturday.
According to the press release, schools having monthly fee of Rs10,000 or above will be included in A-category and those having a fee ranging from Rs4,000 to Rs10,000 will be included in B-category.
The minister said that after completion of categorisation of schools, the ratio of annual fee increase of both categories schools would be fixed.
Mashhood said that the government was working on a plan to provide quality education to the children in government schools and the private sector will be retrained from exploiting the education sector through monopoly.
The minister said that a summary has been prepared in the light of proposals by stakeholders.
