7 human rights quotes of famous Pakistanis
World leaders stood united today in observing the World Human Rights Day in order to emphasise on the importance of giving human beings the rights that they deserve and are entitled to. Pakistan is seen, by many, as a hostile country with no regard for human rights. That, however, is not the case and Pakistan has had its fair share of human rights activists, some of whom have become well known all over the world. Here are a few quotes supporting human rights by Pakistanis:
“I do not have any formal education… what use is education when we do not become human beings [after being educated]? My school is the welfare of humanity.” -Abdul Sattar Edhi.
"I speak not for myself but for those without voice... those who have fought for their rights... their right to live in peace, their right to be treated with dignity, their right to equality of opportunity, their right to be educated." - Malala Yousafzai.
"The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need, but not every man's greed. In a gentle way, you can shake the world." -Bacha Khan.
"I dream ...of a world where we can commit our social resources to the development of human life and not to its destruction."- Benazir Bhutto.
"What I perceive, is above all justice, where everyone has the same law."- Imran Khan.
"By bringing the voices of the ordinary people faced with extraordinary challenges to television screens around the world, I hope to affect change in one community at a time."- Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy.
"I've found that the common humanity of people is the most relatable thing, and even if your stories are very specific about a different place, if you have a relatable core of humanity, people will go along with it."- Kumail Nanjiani.
