AAUR students get fee reimbursed
Islamabad - A ceremony under the Prime Minister’s Fee Reimbursement Scheme was held at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) yesterday to distribute cheques among the students of the campus.
The purpose of this scheme is to help the talented students of underdeveloped areas get admission in higher classes. The educational expenses of such students will be paid under this scheme. On the occasion, cheques worth Rs 1.540 million were distributed among twenty six PhD students of different department. PMAS-AAUR Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Rai Niaz Ahmad was the chief guest who gave away fee reimbursement cheques to the students.
Speaking on the occasion, the VC said the country cannot progress without education and only an educated youth can help bring socio-economic change in society. He praised the fee reimbursement scheme and said this programme will bring many poor students to the doors of universities and enable them to continue their studies. He urged the youth to seek higher education and do some productive work to benefit the society. He hoped that these scholarships would help students in pursuing their higher education.
