SHAHBAZ CONTACTS PEOPLE ON FACEBOOK
Lahore—Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif directly contacted the people through video message on website facebook of social contacts Monday. He listened to their problems and issued orders for their resolution. The Chief Minister while listening to the problems of the people on facebook said that public problems are identified through contacts on facebook and immediate steps are taken for their resolution.
Replying to a question of Mian Raheel from Faisalabad, the Chief Minister said that Punjab government had set up Punjab Educational Endowment Fund eight years ago and the volume of this educational fund has increased to 16 billion rupees. He said that talented but deserving male and female students are getting education at prestigious educational institutions through the income of this educational fund.
Shahbaz Sharif said that five billions and sixty crore rupees have been given to the deserving students as scholarship so far. He said that more than one lakh boy and girl students are getting education through this educational fund. He said that the annual budget of PEEF is being increased from two billion to four billion rupees.
He said that the number of scholarships will be increased in this educational fund and more than two lakh talented but deserving male and female students will be given scholarships in a year.
The Chief Minister said that male and female students of other provinces including Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA have also been included in this revolutionary programme of Punjab government which has promoted national unity and brotherhood.
He said that education is the key to removing darkness of ignorance and bringing prosperity. He said that the amount of scholarships has been sent to students of Government College University Faisalabad which they will receive soon.
Replying to a question of Junaid Aslam from Daska, Shahbaz Sharif said that the teachers have been recruited only on merit throughout the province and 1470 educators were recruited in Sialkot during current year. He said that the verification of educational certificates of the educators after recruitment is a part of policy of recruitment under merit.
He said that the salaries of those educators whose certificates were verified, have been paid online and the salaries of remaining educators will be paid online after verification of certificates.
In response to the question of Sana Zahoor from Faisalabad, the Chief Minister said that if connivance of anyone is proved regarding illegal possession of land of Government Primary School, Rahmania, Jhang Road, Faisalabad, strict action will be taken. He said that a high level committee has been constituted for investigation of the matter.
He said that punishment will be awarded to those land grabbers and action will be taken in the light of the report of the inquiry committee. Replying to a question of Muhammad Ali Anjum from Jhelum, Shahbaz Sharif said that he will not allow any excess committed against the people in the name of parking fees at DHQ hospital Jhelum.
He said that parking fees will have to be paid only one time during 24 hours in the hospital. The Chief Minister said that he will not allow anyone to receive parking fees repeatedly. He said that the action will be taken against the contractor receiving excess parking fee.
