Sikh students to get laptops
LAHORE - Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that laptops are being given to Sikh students studying at different educational institutions in the province.
He was presiding over a high level meeting in this regard, here on Friday.
MPA Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, Additional Secretary Higher Education Shahid Zaman and DCO Nankana attended the meeting.
Rana Mashhood said that 54 Sikh male and female students are studying in Punjab which also included those students whose parents have shifted to Punjab from Aurakzai Agency and other areas.
He said that on the special direction of Chief Minister Punjab, talented Sikh students are being given laptops.
The provincial minister said that the aim of this step is to convey a message to the world on behalf of Pakistan government that equal opportunities of development and prosperity are available to all segments in our country without discrimination of Muslim and Non-Muslim.
Rana Mashhood said that Sikh male and female students from 9th class to post graduate are being given laptops and a function will be arranged in next few days for this purpose.
