36 building inspectors have fake diplomas

KARACHI: Though the political appointments on fake documents have become order of the day in the province, as many as 36 building inspectors who are assigned the task of inspecting high-rise commercial buildings, have fake diploma degrees, Daily Times has learnt.

According to well-placed sources, the Sindh Building Control Authority, after the continuous raids by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and paramilitary forces at authority’s headquarter located in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area involving corruption of its director-general Manzoor Kaka, forwarded a number of degree of its officials to the respective boards and universities for verification.

However, the degrees of building inspectors – Diploma of Associate Engineer (Civil), are sent to the Sindh Board of Technical Education for verification and a detailed list containing names of 36 building inspectors returned with clear note that they (degrees) were fake and bogus. After the verification, the Sindh Building Control Authority has forwarded a letter to Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah for further action, sources added.

According to an official document, available with Daily Times, which states that “the SBCA has got verification of the educational qualification of the Building Inspectors, appointed on the basis of Diploma of Associate Engineer, attained by them from Sindh Board of Technical Education, Karachi and submitted at the time of their appointment”. “The Sindh Board of Technical Education has intimated vide letters No SBTE/CERT/VER/2015-1309, No SBTE/CERT/VER/2015-1307 and No SBTE/CERT/VER/2015-1308 that diplomas, education qualification are fake/bogus of the following building inspectors”, the letter added.

The building inspectors whose degrees, qualification certificates are declared fake/bogus include: Ameer Khan son of Nizamuddin posted at Gulshan town-I, Asmatullah son of Qamaruddin posted at Landhi town, Abdul Wahid son of Abdul Fateh (Gadap town), Zeeshan Gul son of Major Gul (Saddar town-I), Ghulam Rasool son of Ghulam Farooq (Hyderabad region), Hussain Ali son of Ali Nawaz Khan (Korangi town), Eesar Ali Chundani son of Mumtaz Ali (Orangi town), Atta Hussain Faheem son of Muhammad Sharif (Sukkur region), Shah Nawaz son of Qurban Ali (North Nazimabad town), Shah Rukh Khan son of Abdul Hameed Pathan (Sukkur region), Nafees-ul-Hassan Shah son of Gul Hassan Shah (Larkana region), Niaz Hussain son of Fida Hussain (Gulshan town-II), Zafar Iqbal son of Mehmood Kamal (complaint cell), Atique-ur-Rehman son of Abdul Majeed (Sukkur region), Badshah son of Abdul Rasheed (Jamshed town), Aijaz Ali son Muhammad Bux Khushk (Hyderabad region), Samar Ali son of Meer Muhammad (Sukkur region), Tariq Sharif son of Muhammad Sharif (Jamshed town), Shakeel Ahmed son of Malik Siraj (Korangi town), Saeed Ahmed son of Koral Khan (Sukkur region), Saifullah son of Haji Ghulam Nabi (Jamshed town), Mazhar Kamal son of Mehmood Kamal (Bin Qasim town), Muhammad Shamim son of Muhammad Naqi (Bin Qasim town), Adnan Ali son of Liaquat Ali Gujjar (Hyderabad region), Asif Mumtaz son of Mumtaz Hussain (Landhi town), Abdul Aziz son of Sagir (New Karachi town), Zeeshan Khan son of Amanullah (Korangi town), Naeem Ahmed son of Altaf Ahmed (Gulshan town-II), Abid Ali son of Muhammad Khan Zardari (Hyderabad region), Muhammad Irfan son of Muhammad Umer (Baldia town), Rehman Jawaid son of Azeem Jawaid (Gadap town), Zahid Hussain son of Allauddin (Gulberg town), Syed Sadam Hussain son of Sartaj Ahmed (Gulshan town-II), Syed Tahseen Ali son of Syed Sabir Ali (Bin Qasim town), Adil Hafeez son of Muhammad Hafeez (Liaquatabad town) and Muhammad Abbas son of Muhammad Shafi (posted at Mirpurkhas region). The sources said these political appointees had started using their sources to keep their jobs intact however the management was not ready to accept them.
