KPK govt to provide 15,000 tablets to school children
PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Education Muhammad Atif Khan Friday said the provincial government is planning to introduce information technology (IT) at primary schools in collaboration with national and international organizations to bring the government school children at par with private institutions.
Presiding over a meeting of education officers, IT exporters and officials of Telenor company here, he said that KPK government in collaboration with Telenor company would provide 15,000 tablets to school children from Grade I-V in KPK.
Expressing gratitude to Telenor company for the assistance, he said that the provincial government is committed to introducing revolutionary changes in education sector and the initiative is part of the efforts.
He said that uniform education system from class one to 10 has already been taken and sooner the school children of KPK would be able to compete with students of international private educational institutions.
He said that department of elementary and secondary education is collaborating with national and international organizations of IT for their support in provision of IT based system in primary government schools of KPK.
