All Karachi inter-collegiate quiz competition held
All Karachi Inter Collegiate Quiz Competition 2015 was held at Defence Authority SKBZ College here on Monday. Mirza Ishtiaq Baig, President of 'Make a Wish Foundation Pakistan' was the chief guest of the function. The chief guest underlined the significance of the power of knowledge and termed the quiz competitions as the hallmark of a sound education system. He said in the present era of progression and development, knowledge and information played a pivotal role in success of any venture. He added that general knowledge was a vital part of education and reiterated that quiz competitions help in polishing the inherent talent of students and rekindle their passion and zeal for learning to the best of their abilities.
Earlier, Principal of the College Brigadier Mirza Khawar Baig (Retd) stressed upon the students the need for constant update of knowledge for a successful career in this technological and information age. He said quiz competitions provided an excellent opportunity to students to enhance their mental skills and played a pivotal role in development of their all round personalities.
Students of the prestigious colleges of the metropolis participated in the event. The students answered different interesting and intellectually vibrant questions covering a vast panorama of subjects including education, science, Islamic studies, history, sports and current affairs etc. Interesting questions from diversified topics were asked from the students to evaluate and test their general knowledge.
According to the results, the quiz competition was won by Bahria College NORE-1 while Bahria College Karsaz clinched the second position. Fazaia Degree College, PAF Base Faisal got the third position. At the end, the chief guest gave away the trophies to the winning teams and distributed the certificates among the participants of the programme.-PR
