Monday, October 12, 2015 - Lahore—The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) will continue to provide all-out support and assistance to the 75 partner schools in Cholistan area of Bahawalpur division for arranging good quality education to the students enrolled in these schools.
Chairman, Punjab Education Foundation, Engr. Qamar u Islam Raja stated this during his inspection of various PEF partner schools in Cholistan. These schools were set up by the Cholistan Development Authority and adopted by the PEF to provide gratis education to the students who mostly belongs to the impecunious strata.
He said that as a result of continued support and patronage provided by this foundation to the Cholistan Development Authority, the number of students in the community schools has reached to more than 5600; adding that it has also encouraged girls education in the vast Cholistan desert where it is difficult for the parents to send their tender-age children to far away schools for want of resources.
