2016 submissions now invited
Award for Excellence in Education in Medical, Dental & Veterinary Schools
The recognition of the importance of teaching alongside research as the mission of a medical, dental and veterinary school is on today’s agenda. The ASPIRE Programme allows medical, dental and veterinary schools to be recognised internationally for their excellence in education.
Medical, dental and veterinary schools are invited to apply for an ASPIRE-to-excellence award in one or more of the spheres:
Assessment of students
Student engagement
Social accountability of the school
Faculty Development
The criteria produced for excellence represent a de facto set of standards for ‘best practice’ in education and effectively outline what ‘best practice’ in these four areas should look like. The criteria have been refined following a series of pilot studies and a consultation process.
The closing date for the 2016 round of submissions is 31st January 2016.
We believe that this is an important and forward-looking initiative in education in the health care professions and hope that you will support it by encouraging your school to consider submitting in one or more of the categories.
