Special Education Dept starts Inclusive Education Project in Bahawalpur and Muzaffargarh
LAHORE – Provincial Minister for Special Education, Asif Saeed Manhis has said that Special Education Department Punjab started a new project for mild disables children titled “Punjab Inclusive Education Project.”
He said that the goal of this project is to identify and mainstream children with mild disabilities by providing them equal opportunities of quality education to every school going age children without any discrimination.
Minister Special Education told that this pilot project is initially started in two districts of Punjab, Bahawalpur and Muzaffargarh and this pilot project is designed for 18 months ending on June 30, 2016.
Asif Saeed further said that the major components of the project are to identification of potential out of school children with milk disabilities; screening and placement in right schools; provision of assistive devices; regular monitoring and retaining and training of teachers to build their capacity to accommodate children with mild disabilities.
