NEWLY-APPOINTED GERMAN AMBASSADOR VISITS ROOTS IVY SCHOOLS
Islamabad—Newly-appointed German Ambassador Ms. Ina Lepel visited Roots Ivy School, College & University to promote goodwill and improve the bilateral cordial relations between Pakistan and Germany. Ms. Khadija Mushtaq, CEO Roots Ivy Schools and colleges Pakistan along with the students waving German flags and faculty members gave an overwhelmingly warm welcome to the distinguished guests.
The ambassador initiated her visit by taking a tour of the German ResourceCenter and meeting native German language faculty members at Roots Ivy University campus Islamabad followed by German language programme updates by the students, national anthems of both nations, speeches, cultural show, songs and stalls at Roots Ivy DHA1 campus Islamabad.
Roots Ivy School & College is the only school and college in Pakistan to be continuously offering the German Language Programme through a state of the art German Resource Center and an active German Cultural Club for all junior school, O and A Levels students since 2009. Roots Ivy has opened new doors of opportunities for all graduates through cultivation of a network of partner German institutions of higher education as well as other educational establishments of good repute to facilitate, coordinate and organize exchange programmes, undergraduate studies and summer school camps in cooperation with German schools. Currently there are 720 students studying German language course.
The German language youth camp in Germany was set up to promote multiple talents of students. All Roots Ivy students studying German language are acquiring free education and higher education placements in the leading state universities in Germany. Last year, H.E. Dr. Cyrill Jean Nunn, former ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Pakistan visited Roots Ivy International School Flagship campus Faisalabad in March 2014 to inaugurate the German Resource Center in Faisalabad followed by an exciting cultural show.
Speaking on the occasion Khadija Mushtaq CEO Roots Ivy School & College said, “I am very proud to share with you all that Roots Ivy International School/ College has been teaching German language by native Germans to all tiers starting from junior school to A-levels.
These native teachers are available on the campus at all times to facilitate the students. At Roots Ivy it’s not just about learning the German language but it’s about learning the culture and respecting diversity. In a globalized world characterized by international links and inter-cultural connections, acquiring linguist skills has become a crucial necessity for availing opportunities in international careers. If we want our students to be multi-linguistic and appreciate the cultural differences we have to educate and enlighten them to become globally accepted. The students that are selected to be sent to Germany for higher studies are very versatile, talented, skilled and cosmopolitan individuals who respect different cultures and diversity.
