All education projects near completion
TOBA TEK SINGH - Ninty five percent work on the Education Department project has been completed in the district, the participants of the District Education review committee meeting were informed on Monday.
DCO Ameer Ijaz Akbar presided over the meeting.
The Education Department officials informed that Rs402 million is being spent on 832 schemes. Rs315 million would be spent on repair or reconstruction of 84 buildings of different schools which tenders has been invited. On the occasion, the DCO directed to provide alternate staff instead of teachers for polio vaccination duty to the Health Department. DMO Asif Ali Dogar briefed the meeting that the District Education Department teams visited 690 schools in August and 14 teachers were found absent. He said that after inquiry, four of them had been terminated from service while eight were fined. DO Education (Secondary) Akram Ch, DO Education (Elementary) Malik Altaf and other officials also attended the meeting.
