Back to School fair organised

LAHORE

EducationUSA Pakistan at the United States Education Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) organised a “Back to School” fair in Lahore on Saturday. According to a press release issued on Sunday, this was an opportunity for Pakistani students to meet alumni from 30 US colleges and universities with US Consulate staff answering questions on visas, life in the US and college applications. EducationUSA advisers, most of whom have US degrees, were also on hand to answer questions and provide advice to prospective students and their parents.

Discussing the importance of such education fairs, USEFP Executive Director Rita Akhtar said: "The US provides excellent academic opportunities for Pakistani students. With over 4,000 accredited higher education institutions, there really is a programme for everyone. For some students, financial aid and scholarship options are also available to make US education especially affordable."

Every year, the number of international students in the United States rises as more and more students choose the US to expand their experience and continue their higher education.

The US is one of the most popular destinations for international students because it offers academic excellence, diversity of education programmes, flexibility, cutting-edge technology, opportunities for research, global education and long-term career prospects.

“We designed the fair to familiarise students with what studying in the United States is all about,” said Umair Khan, advising manager, EducationUSA. “Students get to meet US university alumni and hear first-hand accounts about living and studying in the US”
