Girls grab top positions in intermediate exams
Private-sector colleges broke the records of their success as compared to the public sector educational institutions.
The Higher Secondary School Certificate Part-II (Composite) Examination (Annual-2015), held under the auspices of AJK Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Mirpur.
The names of top 20 positions holders were announced in a press conference. Secretary Higher Education AJK government, Mahmood Khan was the chief guest who unveiled the names of the top three position holders students – all girls, belonging to the same private sector Kashmir Model College Mirpur.
AJK BISE Chairman Zaheer Ahmed highlighted the salient features of the fool proof and transparent examination system conducted by the Board.
Ms Sana Asif d/o Muhammad Asif (Role No. 500809) of the private sector Kashmir Model College Mirpur, belonging to pre-medical group secured first position in entire board in the examination by securing 1032 marks out of total of 1100 marks. Similarly Syeda Taleha Shah d/o Syed Qiser Sheraz Ahmed Kazmi (Role No 500820) (Pre-Medical group) and Warda Iqbal d/o Muhammad Iqbal (Role No 500778 Pre-Medical group) of the same Kashmir Model College Mirpur secured 2nd and 3rd positions by obtaining 1027 and 1024 marks out of a total of 1100 marks respectively.
The overall results of the annual Intermediate (Part II) / Composite Examination 2015 will be announced here on Monday. The result is also available on the website of the AJK BISE after 9.30 a.m. The Boards website address is: www.ajkbise.net, he said..
The girl students also stayed atop as they secured first top three positions out of the top 20 positions in the results of the annual Higher Secondary School Certificate (Intermediate) Part-II examination – 2015.
The preliminary analyses of the overall results spoke of the unprecedented excellent performance of the private-sector colleges as compared to those running in the public sector across Azad Jammu Kashmir as only 11 government colleges including 6 in Muzaffarabad and 5 in Rawalakot secured a total of eleven position out of first top 34 positions, announced by the AJK BISE at the news conference here on Sunday.
The private-sector Kashmir Model College Mirpur secured first top 15 positions. It also clinched distinction of bagging first three positions out of first top-20 positions.
Controller Examination (Colleges) AJK BISE Aslam Chaudhry disclosed that a total of 40,850 candidates out of a total of 42,315 candidates appeared in the examination. Out of those appeared in the examination a total of 19,666 candidates were declared successful. Thus the overall result of the entire Board remained 48.14 percent. The overall result of regular candidates remained 62.85 percent – whereas the overall result of private candidates remained 30.31 percent.
Besides, the first top 15 out of total of top 34 positions secured by Kashmir Model College Mirpur, 6 positions were bagged by Govt model Science College Muzaffarabad, five secured by Govt Degree College Rawalakot, two top positions each secured by private-sector Insight Model College Bhimbher and Read Foundation College Bhimbher and the one seat each secured by private sector Shaheen Model College Muzaffarabad, Muhammadan Science College Hajira, poonch, Jammu Kashmir Public Higher Secondary School Dhangoat, district Kotli.
