PEF launches mobile app to trace out-of-school kids
The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has launched "Mujhay School Bhaijain" to help identify out of school and dropout children in partnership with the general public. It is an android based mobile application which is available at Google Play Store as well as at the PEF official website for free downloads. The website is designed by the PEF IT department with a view to include general public in education promotion.
The formal launch ceremony was held at PEF Head Office on Friday with chairman Engineer Qamar ul Islam Raja, Managing Director Dr Aneela Salman, Programme Directors, School Partners and others. Addressing the ceremony Qamar-ul-Islam said PEF was strenuously working to help the needy kids to study in its partner schools, adding that for the purpose, IT-based system was designed to ensure that no one was left unattended. He asked the people to install the application on their mobile phones and send data of kids who were deprived of education due to paucity of resources. This would help to achieve the targets of "Parho Punjab, Barho Punjab."
MD PEF Dr Aneela Salman congratulated the IT team for bringing out a handy application for identifying deprived children. She said that dexterous use of IT was helping the foundation to promote public private partnership in education, adding that the model was cost effective, useful and result-oriented.
