NTS playing role to strengthen edu sector: CEO
Islamabad - National Testing Service (NTS) has taken special initiatives to uplift the higher education sector in the province of Balochistan.
Dr Haroon Rashid, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), NTS, said this while presiding over a meeting here at NTS headquarter yesterday.
He explained that as follow-up of special meeting of Inter University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences (IUCPSS) and launching ceremony of roadmap on strengthening social Sciences 9-10 April 2013 at Gwadar Balochistan, every possible step would be undertaken to facilitate university, college faculty and students from Balochistan.
These efforts would also be helpful in improving employability of the youth from Balochistan at competitive market place, he added.
Under these initiatives, NTS through IUCPSS would closely work with the higher education institutions of the province.
According to press release issued here, 30 TOEFL ITP Tests Certification will be offered to the out-going graduates of two higher education colleges of the province.
TOEFL ITP test measure and evaluate students’ English Language Skills with unparalleled flexibility, convenience and reliability.
Through the central office of IUCPSS, NTS will also support the provincial universities initiatives such as conferences and seminars in the disciplines of social sciences.
Ten Additional Scholarships under need - based scholarship program will be offered to the students of two higher education colleges of the province.
Students / candidates will be selected for the scholarships as per NTS scholarships policies.
Fifty-four Scholarships worth of Rs 4.
57 million have already been awarded to the students enrolled at various higher education institutions in Balochistan, which would be gradually increased in future.
Faculty members of two public sector Higher Education Institutes of Balochistan will be offered Computers’ software training.
NTS will also establish Library Corner at 5 public sector universities of Balochistan.
