Karachi private schools to open on August 11
KARACHI: Succumbing to government pressure, the previously unwilling private schools associations have willy-nilly agreed to start their educational activities by August 11, Samaa reported.
"We have given our consent to the decision after a detailed talk with the commissioner of Karachi," All Private Schools Management Association (APSMA) Chairman Syed Khalid Shah told Samaa.
Earlier on Sunday, Secretary Education Sindh, Fazlullah Pechuho issued a notification stating that all the schools including private ones will reopen on August 3 after Summer vacations.
Later, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah set aside this notification and asserted that the reopening date will remain unchanged i.e. August 11 in view of flooding situation in the province.
According to secretary education’s summary, the schools situated in areas not been affected by floods or rains will open from August 3.
Pechuho said this decision was taken because all the districts were hit by the rains and floods.
But CM Shah dismissed the summary and restored the previous order that the schools in the province will open on August 11, according to CM House mouthpiece.
