Fruit-seller secures 2nd position, vows to continue ‘profession’ to support family, education
Ali Hamza dreams of becoming a mechanical engineer, says will acquire higher education to serve country
Ali Hamza, 16, who clinched second position amongst boys by securing 1003 out of 1100 marks in Humanities group in the recently held annual matriculation exams under the auspices of Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Gujranwala, has vowed to continue his “profession” of selling fruits on a cart in Daska city’s congested Chungi No 8 locality to feed his poor family, besides, continuing his higher education as well.
Talking to journalists on Sunday, Hamza said that he had always loved working hard and loved his profession of selling fruits.
He said that he didn’t have enough resources to acquire education in a good private educational institution, thus, he studied at government-run Government High School, Daska.
“I never had felt ashamed of selling fruits. It is my profession which helps me to feed my poor family,” he said.
He said that the fruit-selling on a cart had never created hurdle in the way of getting education.
Hamza added that he reached back Daska after getting his medal during a special ceremony held in Gujranwala under the auspices of BISE Gujranwala.
“After receiving my medal and prize, I came back straight to my cart and started selling fruits proudly,” he added.
He said that he had a great responsibility of feeding his poor family on his shoulders, as his father was paralysed and mother a hearing patient.
“I have been serving my parents without feeling any hesitation, thus Allah has rewarded me this prize that I clinched top second position”, he revealed.
“The prayers of my parents were always with me thus I consider myself as the richest person of the world,” he said, proudly.
Hamza wished to become an engineer in future with a sole aim to serve the nation and the country in a better way in future.
His family was much rejoiced as the people from all walks of life visited their home with sweets and gifts to greet Hamza for his outstanding educational performance.
Meanwhile, Ejaz Ahmed, senior head master of Government High School, Daska, has announced to host a prestigious welcoming ceremony in the honour of this school’s brilliant student Ali Hamza after the end of persisting summer vacations.
