RBISE announces results: Girls outshine boys in Rawalpindi board SSC exams

RAWALPINDI: Girls once again outshine boys in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Annual Examination 2015 held under the Rawalpindi Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, (RBISE).

The results were announced here on Saturday by the RBISE Controller Examination, Dr Umar Farooq. The result declaration and prize-distribution ceremony was held at Government Postgraduate College, Asghar Mall. Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar was the chief guest on the occasion, who said that the provincial government assigned high priority to education and supporting talented students.

He said that the fate of the country could not be changed without progress in the field of education.

Noor Fatima daughter of Shaukat Ali Naseer, a science group student of Siddique Public School (Girls), Rawalpindi bagged overall top position by obtaining 1,072 marks out of a total of 1,100.

Second position was secured by another student of the same group and school Syeda Ayesha Fawad Bukhari daughter of Dr Syed Fawad Laiq Bukhari who obtained 1,066 marks.

Overall third position was grabbed another science group student Talha Abdullah son of Mahmood Ahmad Zubairi belonging to Cadet College Hassanabdal. He obtained 1,064 marks.

Meanwhile, in the science group among girls, Bibi Javeria Rani, daughter of Syed Abid Hussain Shah of Sir Syed Public School for Girls, Rawalpindi, obtained 1,063 marks and secured third position.

In the science group among boys, Muhammad Taimur Malik son of Tariq Mehmood Malik of Cadet College Hassanabdal, obtained 1,063 marks and secured second position. Hussain Ahmed son of Muhammad Aslam of Radiant Secondary School for Boys, Rawalpindi secured 1,062 marks with third position.

In the general group, girls excelled by attaining the first three positions overall.

Arshia Ehsan daughter of Muhammad Ehsan Elahi, a student of Grammar Public High School for Girls Satellite Town, Rawalpindi, secured first position with 1,024 marks. Huma Uroos daughter of Allah Rakha of Government M.C. Girls High School, Gujar Khan, clinched second position by obtaining 1,013 marks.

Moreover, Mahnoor Bilal daughter of Muhammad Bilal, a student of Grammar Public High School for Girls, Rawalpindi secured third position by obtaining 1,012 marks.

In the general group among boys, Anasur Rahman son of Atiqur Rahman, student of Government M.C. Islamia Higher Secondary School, Jhelum secured first position by obtaining 967 marks.

Muhammad Asad Ali son of Muhammad Pervaiz, student of Government High School Bhatiot, Attock, obtained 934 marks to bag the second position, while Muhammad Aqeel son of Hafiz Abrar Ahmed, student of Nammal School and College, Rawalpindi obtained 912 marks and secured third position.

Out of a total of 121,105 enrolled students, 119,889 including 84,236 regular and 36,869 private students, appeared in the examination.

The overall pass percentage remained 70.35. A total of 35,350 candidates failed the examination.

The pass percentage among regular candidates remained 71.15, while among private candidates only 49.9 per cent passed. A total of 65,707 boys and 54,182 girls appeared in the exams. The pass percentage among the boys remained 64.6 and among girl students 77.32.

RBISE Chairperson Dr Muhammad Zareef, Board Secretary Rana Javed and a number of Punjab Assembly members attended the ceremony.

RBISE Spokesperson Arslan Cheema told the APP that the candidates could check their results on the board’s website.
