Outages students’ biggest headache

A prize distribution ceremony for the position holders in the Secondary Schools Certificate Examination 2015 was held at Government Comprehensive Girls High School on Saturday.
The position holders in their speeches said that Shahbaz Sharif was education-friendly chief minister of Punjab. They said that he gave unprecedented services to encourage and give respect and honour the position holders.
Punjab Forest Minister Malik Asif Bha was the chief guest said that that Punjab government’s steps would be helpful to create passion for progress in the other students. Position holders Azka Syed, Hifsa Farooq, Nimra Zahid, Ayesha Nofal, Talha and Usama Nisar termed the power loadshedding the biggest issue for the students across the country.
Some of them were dissatisfied over the performance of politicians. They expressed their desire to join the Education Department in future. They also expressed their concern over the bad performance of hockey team.
Meanwhile, the AJK Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education announced the results of Secondary School Certificate (Part-II) Examination-2015.
Private sector Kashmir Model College Mirpur remained atop securing exceptional distinction of clinching 10 out of top-20 positions in the examination in entire Azad Jammu Kashmir while Read Foundation remained runner-up. It is regretted to mention that the only student from 878 state-run schools in entire AJK secured position. “A total of 38,098 candidates out of a total of 59388 candidates qualified the Secondary School Certificate examination Part-II held under the auspices of Azad Jammu Kashmir Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Mirpur,” said Mahmood Ahmed Razaq, controller examination.
“The overall results of the examination 2015, held under the auspices of AJK BISE, remained 64.15 percent, the Controller Examination AJK BISE told a ceremony. As 31378 regular students passed the examination, the overall result of regular candidates remained 78.04 percent. The overall result of private candidates remained 35.04 percent as 6720 private students passed the examination.
Nabeel Rasheed s/o Abdul Rasheed (Roll No 122457) of Read Foundation High School Chakar, Muzaffarabad district clinched top position securing 1,076 out of total of 1,100 marks in the examination. Similarly, Zainab Sultana d/o Sultan Mehmood, (Roll No. 102149) of Kashmir Model College Mirpur, secured second position by obtaining 1,073 marks and Wardah Bashir d/o Muhammad Bashir, (Roll No 108949) of Fatimatuz Zehra Girls College Ziarat Paniola, Poonch, secured third position by obtaining 1,066 marks. All these first three top positions holding girls students in the entire Board belonged to the Science group.
The AJK BISE Controller elaborated the efforts of his organisation for the timely holding of the examination and the result despite various inconveniences in the hilly terrain of Azad Jammu Kashmir. Seasoned academicians including heads of various schools securing distinctions were also present.
The result cards of regular candidates have been sent to the heads of their respective colleges. Whereas the result cards of the private candidates have been sent through registered mail on their respective addresses. The result of the candidates, against whom the arrears of the admission fee were lying, have been delayed, but will be released on removal of the objections on submission of application within 30 days after announcement of the results.
5 billion was allocated for the purpose.
