Position holders handed awards
LAHORE - The Lahore Board on Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore has formally announced the results of Matriculation Annual Examination 2015 Saturday – declaring 135,336, out of 92,844, candidates passed.
Pass percentage stood 70.18 this year.
The board awarded topper gold medal and Rs20,000 cash prize while silver and brown medals as well as cash Rs15000 and Rs10,000 were given to second and third position holders at an award distribution ceremony at Alhamra.
Topper Shafaq Zahid handed a laptop while certificates and cash prizes were also given to teachers of position holders.
Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yasin was the chief guest while Mian Marghob, Lahore BISE Chairman Nasurllah Malik, notables, officials and parents attended the event.
A total 109,802 candidates for Science Group appeared in the exam and 86728 candidates were declared, showing pass percentage 78.
99, while 83042 of Arts Group appeared and 48608 students have been declared passed whereas the proportion of pass is 58.53
Speaking on the occasion, the food minister credited better result to his government’s policies, saying: “(Educational) results of Lahore board proved the success of government policies.
Education is the top priority of government and it is spending 27 percent budget on promotion of education.
Educated youth of Pakistan is our most precious asset and we are changing the destiny of the nation through education.
He said it is determination of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif that Pakistan will be made an enlightened example of development through education.
Bilal also congratulated parents and teachers and hoped that these students would work with the same spirit and hard work in coming life and bring laurels to the nation.
He expressed satisfaction that free education is being provided to 1.
7 million students up to matric through Punjab Education Foundation and Rs.10.
5 billion was allocated for the purpose.
