Federal education institutes daily-wagers unpaid for six months
Daily-wagers working in academic and non-academic departments of various federal education institutions have not been paid for the last six months.
The daily-wagers have been protesting for the last for the six months, demanding to make payments but their pleas have fallen on a deaf ear as officials at the CADD and the FDE have swept their appeal under the carpet.
A source at the FDE said that various school and college administrations have asked daily-wagers not to turn up for duty after summer vacations as they have no funds to further make their payments.
According to the source, with no option left, around 54 daily-wagers have submitted a petition in the Islamabad High Court requesting the court to issue directives to education officials to absorb them against vacant posts in accordance with the hiring policy.
According to source, around 423 daily-wagers have been working in model and federal government education institutions and some of them have not been paid for the last two years.
