Peshawar attack children to be sent abroad for medical care: CM
LAHORE: Students of Army Public School Peshawar who are under treatment in Punjab and their parents met Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday and thanked him for providing best treatment facilities in different hospitals of Lahore.
The chief minister also gave laptops to the visiting students of APS Peshawar. Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said that sons and daughters of the nation who are studying in Army Public School Peshawar are present here today and the nation is proud of these brave children who have faced a big tragedy with courage and bravery. He said that nation is still grieved over the Peshawar terrorist attack in which innocent students were martyred. He said that the tragedy of Army Public School Peshawar is the biggest tragedy in the history of the country and there is no other example of this kind in the recent history.Shahbaz Sharif said that boy and girl students of Army Public School have written history of supreme sacrifices, which will always be remembered. He said that the supreme sacrifices of innocent children have united the nation in the war against terrorism and the nation is determined to root out the menace of terrorism. He said that after Peshawar tragedy, National Action Plan against terrorism was evolved with national consensus under which solid measures are being taken against the menace of terrorism and a decisive war is being fought against terrorists in which victory will be of Pakistan.
The chief minister said that the supreme sacrifices of innocent children have wakened the nation and the whole nation is united, determined and on one page. He said that the blood of innocent children will not go waste and terrorism will be rooted from the country. The Peshawar tragedy, he said, was a lesson for 180 million people of the country that Pakistan cannot make progress without elimination of the menace of terrorism. The chief minister said that he welcomes sons and daughters of the nation and their parents and teachers on arrival in Lahore and their care is his responsibility.He said that children will also be sent abroad on the recommendation of the medical board. He said that all-out cooperation is being extended to boy and girl students with regard to their education. The chief minister directed Lahore commissioner to review the matters regarding education of the children. While talking to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif the parents of the children said that he and Punjab government have shown great hospitality to them and their children, and they have been the guests of Punjab government for the last 28 days and will never forget its cooperation and hospitality.
The parents also informed the chief minister about some matters regarding education of children, upon which the chief minister assured them that the Punjab government will extend full cooperation in this regard. Fateha was also offered on this occasion for the martyrs of Peshawar terrorist attack. Adviser Health Salman Rafiq, Parliamentary Secretary to Health Imran Nazir, secretaries of health, information, press secretary to chief minister, Lahore commissioner, Mayo Hospital MS and specialist doctors of various hospitals were present on the occasion.Separately, Shahbaz Sharif has directed that foolproof security arrangements be made for Jumatul Wida, Chand Raat and Eidul Fitr. He said that police and law enforcement agencies should remain fully alert and additional police force should be deputed in markets, bazaars and shopping centers on these days. Addressing a high-level meeting to review overall law and order situation in the province, the chief minister said that all-out measures are being taken for the protection of life and property of the people. He said that police should perform its duties efficiently for further improving law and order situation.
