HEC committed to develop Balochistan edu sector
Islamabad - Chairman Higher Education Commission, Prof Dr Mukhtar Ahmed on Wednesday vowed his commitment for development of higher education in Balochistan, including different scholarship and R&D opportunities for faculty members, researchers and students.
Chairman said this during the meeting with Senator Usman Khan Kakar, Provincial President and Central Secretary of Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party at HEC Secretariat.
According to spokesman of HEC, Chairman and Senator discussed issues pertaining to the universities of Balochistan province.
The Chairman also gave details of programmes under the Aghaz-e-Huqooq-Balochistan Package as well as Prime Minister’s Youth Programme.
“We believe that significance of youth in any society could not be undermined therefore every possible step is being taken to facilitate our youth”, he said.
Dr Mukhtar Ahmed informed the guest that the federal government has announced to open one university or at least its sub-campus in every district of the country, adding that HEC will establish eight new sub-campuses in different parts of Balochistan over the next three years.
Senator Usman Khan Kakar appreciated HEC for bringing the much-needed change due to its initiatives during the last decade.
He assured complete support of the provincial government for further developing the university education in Balochistan.
Meanwhile, Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has announced to declare the result of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Part-I Annual Examination 2015 on July 10 (Friday).
The result of the exams held during the month of March would be announced at the federal board at 1030 hours, said the official of the board.
