RAWALPINDI: The Provincial Education Department has directed all private education institutes to obtain building fitness certificates from the Building Department to ensure safety of structures.
The Education Department Schools has warned that any school failing to submit the building fitness certificate will be closed. The education department said that the registration of may also be cancelled if they did not comply the order. An official said that the education department has received complaints about private schools, which use dilapidated structures to run classes, putting lives of thousands of students at risk. Deputy Education Officers of all the seven tehsils have been directed to get the private schools submitted compliance report immediately.
