75 Cholistan schools yet to get potable water
BAHAWALPUR
Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) Managing Director Aneela Salman said on Wednesday that a strategy had been devised to provide potable water for the students of 75 Cholistan community schools in Bahawalpur Division.
She said that the strategy had been devised in collaboration with Cholistan Development Authority (CDA) to ensure continued provision of potable water to 7,000 students and teachers in those schools.
She was presiding over a function to distribute water coolers to teachers of community schools. She added that PEF was working very proactively to help provide quality education for the students. She added that her organisation wanted to promote girls education in those areas. It was committed to making the Cholistan Schooling Project a real success. She said, “Education is our strongest commitment and no student will be left unattended. PEF is not only providing education but also it is helping improve educational standards through different ways.”
She said PEF annually held quality assurance tests to determine the academic standards of the schools. Its continued support will help the students shine like flowers in the region. She urged the corporate sector to proficiently use its corporate social responsibility principles for the promotion of education in the slum areas so that everyone could get the fundamental right of education.
On the occasion, PEF Director Maliha Batool also addressed the meeting.. she said that the PEF took various steps for the betterment of education in Cholistan.
Mr Farrukh Munir, a representative of Fatima Group, distributed 75 water coolers to the female teachers.
Centre gives Rs70m for gas supply in DASKA: The Federal government has released special development funds to the tune of Rs70 million for early provision of gas to all the remaining parts of Daska city.
MNA Sahibzada Syed Iftikharul Hassan Shah disclosed while talking to the newsmen at Aallo Mahaar Sharif here on Monday. MPA Muhammad Asif Bajwa and PML-N Daska City President Muhammad Afzal Mansha were also present on the occasion.
The MNA revealed that some areas in city had no gas facility due to which locals were suffering great difficulties. He said that now gas would soon be provided to all the remaining parts of the city.
Meanwhile, MNA Sahibzada Syed Iftikharul Hassan Shah administrated oath to the newly elected office bearers of Mughal Foundation Daska during a prestigious ceremony.
MPAs - Muhammad Asif Bajwa (Daska), Abdul Rauf Mughal (Gujranwala), Central President of Tanzeem Mughalia Pakistan Muhammad Saeed Mughal, local traders, notables and senior journalists were also present on the occasion.
