Ground-breaking: Sindh Basic Education Programme begins

KARACHI:
Sindh education secretary Dr Fazlullah Pechuho broke ground at the Government
Municipal High School in Sukkur under the Sindh Basic Education Programme (SBEP).
The new school buildings will consist of 12 to 14 classrooms and will be equipped with science and computer laboratories, a library, a staff room, a clinic and a playground with gated boundary walls.
The Sindh government and US Agency for International Development are working together to implement the SBEP to improve the quality and access to education for children in Sindh. USAID’s $155 million programme is being implemented by the government, along with an additional $10 million contribution. It is constructing up to 120 state-of-the art schools across seven districts of northern Sindh, along with five towns of Karachi.
