IIUI has good news for IDPs
ISLAMABAD: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) would facilitate the internally displaced persons (IDPs) with scholarships.
IIUI President Dr Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh said this during his meeting with National Assembly Standing Committee on States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) Chairman Muhammad Jamaluddin, who called on him at IIUI on Tuesday.
Dr Al-Draiweesh said that IIUI is mulling of sending bright students of affected areas to Saudi universities while they would be provided full cooperation amid their education at IIUI.
He said that he has ordered all the concerned departments to solve the issues of the affected area students on priority basis.
Jamaluddin said that students of the affected areas should be encouraged in terms of education as the area is in dire need of educated minds.
During the meeting, issues pertaining to financial relaxation to the students of affected areas also came under discussion and Dr Al-Draiweesh assured that all possible cooperation would be provided to them.
The SAFRON chairman praised IIUI for its active role in dissemination of peace and said that the university is providing quality education to the students of Muslim world integrated with Islamic teachings.
