Education department: Ban on transfers to be lifted on June 1

LAHORE:
The government is planning on lifting the ban on transfers and posting of public school teachers in the province on June 1. The authority to transfer instructors of higher education institutes and colleges lies with the HED secretary, the Directorate of Public Instruction (Colleges) and the Colleges district officers. School teachers can be transferred on orders of the Education Department and School Education EDOs. Earlier, DOs had the authority to issue transfer orders for officers in grade 16 and the DPI had the authority to transfer officers in grades 17 and 18. The Education secretary had the authority to transfer officers in grades 19 and 20. In schools, the Education EDO, DCOs, secondary DPI, elementary DPI and schools secretary have the authority to transfer teachers grade-wise.
