Education system in Pakistan
Friday, May 22, 2015 - Education plays a vital role in progress and prosperity of a nation. Education is a fundamental human right and essential for all other human rights. It is a powerful tool by which socially and economically marginalized children and adults can lead themselves out of poverty. Right to education is a human right. Imparting quality and purposeful education to the young citizens is government’s responsibility.
Teachers are the pillars of educational system, but the worst conditions are in villages where they very casual and don’t care to take classes. Besides, the government is also responsible for engaging teachers in non-educational duties which affect their class room duties. Whether there is national census, polio vaccination drive, elections of any stage or any other governmental campaign, it is the teachers who are made to suffer; in fact it is the nation that suffers because the young students are deprived of education. Our government should free teachers from such extra activities.
The government provides free books but the books reach the schools three to four months after the start of the new session. There is a strong need to make the examination system transparent and fool-proof; the technical education should be given priority and appropriate funds and resources should be provided to the educational institutions.
