Sindh government gives top priority to health, education

Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that the PPP-led provincial government has given top priority to health and education in the province as it established nine universities including four medical universities and besides Lyari Medical College and the first-ever Girl Cadet College in Lyari and Nawabshah respectively.
He was addressing the 13th Convocation of Peoples University of Medical and Health Sciences for Women (PUMHSW) Nawabshah which was held here on Tuesday.
"Women are competent and not less than men in any field of profession and the government is also creating more job opportunities for them so that their skills could be utilised for the development and progress of the country," he said.
The CM further said that the manifesto of Shaheed Zulfiqar Bhutto was to serve the people and they were also implementing the manifesto of Bhutto and serving the people of Sindh.
He urged lady doctors to serve the people living in remote rural areas such as Thar because it is a national cause and duty.
A modern hospital has been established at Thar but doctors are not ready to perform their duties despite their salaries have been increased manifold, he said, adding the medical college at Nawabshah was established to provide medical education to girls living in rural areas.
Recently, the status of college has been upgraded to university level, he said.
He made an announcement of establishment of Institute of Dental at Peoples Medical University and provision of four buses for the university.
He also decorated position holder students with gold medals. Later, speaking to media, he said that four suspects were arrested allegedly involved in Safoora carnage.
Reply to a question, he said that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would soon come back and run his office and all affairs of the party.
Sindh Minister for Health Jam Mehtab Dahar, Vice Chancellor Liaquat University Medical and Health Sciences Dr Noshad Shaikh, Vice Chancellor PUMHSW Professor Azam Yousfani, Secretary Health Dr Saeed Ahmed Magnejo and other district officials were also present on the occasion.
