Oversight schools
Kolahoo is an alluring village in Makuran Division. The people of Kolahoo are simple and hospitable but are thirsty for gaining education. Unfortunately, they lack the fundamental facilities like open-minded teachers, classrooms, electricity, drinking water, boundary wall and other foundation opportunities. Moreover, the District Education Officer himself is unaware about the number of teachers and has never bothered to make some surprise visit to physically ascertain the presence, punctuality and plight and problems of the teacher.
The District Education Officer might be aware about the ghost teachers who are practically non-existent but continue to get their salaries through the good offices of DEO. Recently, I went in Kolahoo and visited the Government Boys Model School of Kolahoo and saw the students outside the classrooms while the teacher were busy in gossip in the office.
On my query, one of the teachers told me that the students are not interested in studies. He said, there is no need to teach them because at the time of exams, they will get all the material in the examination hall to solve their papers. I humbly request the Education Minister of Balochistan to take strong measures to ensure attendance of the teachers, regular inspection of the schools and elimination of the incidence of ghost teachers and provide fundamental academic facilities to the students.
