25-YEAR-OLD ‘KIDS’
In our society where education is usually given a high priority, parents make sure that their kids are educated or ‘highly’ educated. This seemingly ‘suitable’ perception turns into a nightmare when 25 year olds are asking their parents for pocket money, because unknowingly bearing all their financial burdens while chanting the slogan ‘abhi to parh raha hae/abhi to bacha hai’, the parents are teaching their kids to remain dependent or better yet, they are not teaching them one thing most necessary for survival: being independent. This is not the worst part; the worst part is that the children develop this theory that they have each and every right on each and everything of their parents.
In this era of information and technology, freelancing and other skills based platform are open to be capitalized by the skilled youth. Freelancing and internet based entrepreneurship can be a turning point in the life of a miserable-having-no-degree individual. Some of the skills that have very high earning opportunities are graphic designing, web programming and video editing. However, the importance of education can’t be denied, this merely means that centres which can help uneducated people learn these skills can prove to be a life changing experience. All one needs is a functional computer and a working internet connection.
